I made mine from western red cedar because I had a lot of it at home. Yes it's soft wood but they've been fine for the past 10 years. Mine have hessian stretched across like the Exmoor ones with the Dunlopillow underneath.

Checked some measurements today and a few on the drawing are a bit suspect.
I'll make some frames to my dimensions and see how they fit.
Here's a view under an existing seat.

Whether these are replacements or not I don't know. There are 4 big air holes to let air escape as you sit on the seat, you can just see a couple on the RHS.
Rubber buffers are either side at the front rather than at the back on the frame shown above. This is because the base is flat and the block that stops the seat sliding forward (and holds the strap) would make the seat rock if the buffers weren't there.

I'm not home until tomorrow Colin otherwise I'd send a picture of the drawing I made of my frames. Mine don't have the fancy leather retainer at the front either.

Whilst tidying up the garage today I thought I should get a move on with the Series I seat frames.
Some glue and a staple gun and it's on to finding some foam for the seats & hessian for underneath, then I have to make some seat covers.....

Walked into an Op Shop yesterday and picked up several metres of hessian.
Just need to get the foam cut and then buy some vinyl and get sewing......
