    Compliance Plate

    Hi,

I am just wondering whether I need a compliance plate on the car. I have the detail that it was registered in other state. It shows the correct chassis number, year. model and engine number (holden). Thanks

A series 1 will predate the introduction of compliance plates by around 20 years so no compliance plate is needed, the authorities will want to view the chassis number on the chassis and the engine number and confirm it accords with previous records if it has been previously been registered.

As above, but for the benefit of others, if a vehicle has not been previously registered in Australia you will need to go to an engineer and have it blue plated, unless you want to put it on club plates, then only an RWC is necessary.

There are sites in the UK Or the S1 register UK who sell new plates, you only have to stamp it & attach in the correct position. For they usually want to site the actually number stamped on the Chassis & engine.

Compliance plates are required on vehicles built after about 1972 from memory. If the vehicle has been previously registered in Australia you may be asked for where/when, any number. I have got away with yes, unknown in the past. If a recent import you will need to provide the import approval document.
