Avery sad end for an old friend, but what a great story, with many happy memories,...have you any nice pics of those memories?

Thanks all, I had to get that written down.
There are probably pics, most will be on old fashioned film.
I might have to buy one of those negative scanners.

If you'd like any old film images turned to digital, welcome to post to me (they would be returned promptly and safely) also have a negative scanner/projector here as went through my folks negatives not too long ago. I can't help with undeveloped film but can convert film images to digital and repair any faults or damage my sister had a polaroid I repaired for her. She can now have it printed to a large scale and the decaying, precious image is safe with extra copies. (It was her first ride on her horse many years ago who sadly passed away a few years ago) have attached sample of photo repairs offer is always there

Damn, with the history you had with that car, it must feel like you have put a member of your family to rest.
Life is just a series of obstacles preventing you from taking a nap.

Thank you for the offer. I will have to figure out how to do this, any pics will be scattered all over the family, in albums, boxes bottom drawers etc.
I had occasionally thought about getting a scanner, this is probably a good reason to actually do it.
Do you know how good (or not) those Chinese scanners are?
    Cheers,

Scanners for old (or new) photos

If you want a good scanner at a reasonable price you can''t go past an Epson Perfection V800 or whatever supercedes it. It's technically a very good scanner, will handle flat copy up to A4, transparencies (slides) and negatives. It is supplied with some excellent software called Silverfast, which isn't difficult to learn how to use. Stay away from products with no assurance of customer support down the track. We have the Epson here at home and I have another scanner strictly for 35mm film and negs and it was supplied with Silverfast too.
    Cheers, Rob S

Seems Epson have quite a range of negative scanners.
    No mention of Silverfast though.
    A bit more reading needed
