Many of these suppliers have contracts with couriers who collect from the business. This adds to the cost of shipping. I always ask if they can send via Royal Mail (you can go in the RM website and work out shipping costs) which are normally much less than the courier cost. Some will oblige and some will not as they do not want to go to the post office. Shipping times are similar to courier if "air Mail' is selected.
Where it is cost effective, I always try to get smaller packages sent via Royal Mail and if the seller will not do this I try elsewhere - sometimes works, sometimes not but worth a try.
