    Radio Antenna

    Gentlemen,
I am planning to fit a radio to my 1953 Series 1 80". From previous Forum discussions it appears that a radio was an option in period.
Im looking for suggestions on where and how to mount an antenna.
I have a nice vintage non-retractable antenna from a 1954 Mercedes, that is period correct , but I am unsure where they were mounted.
    Any recommendations greatly appreciated.
    regards and best wishes,
    Jeff in Perth

I fitted a radio in my 1950 80" when I had the 1/2 cab hard top & had the aerial mounted on the side of the cab , I mounted a speaker rite beside my right ear , due to all the noise in the cab when driving I could not hear the radio so scraped that idea.

    Jeff,
1950 Landy speaks the truth. Put the radio in your shed, because you won't be able to hear it it in the 80" without headphones (not a good idea while driving) unless you don't exceed about 20km/hr. Just enjoy the mechaniacl symphony of your 80". Mike 5380
