    Rear cross member variation

Are the rear cross members the same across the S1 era. I’m guessing the 80” may be a little different from the 86” and 88”. I was wondering if a cross member of an unknown cut-up S1 would be a suitable replacement on my 107??.

I believe that the 80/86/107 rear cross members are identical but that the 88/109 have got 2 additional big tubes welded in to take 2 big bolts.

Back 35+ years ago the only replacement ones that were available were S2 which I modified to match my 1950 80". Had to cut down the out riggers, move position of the tabs that mount the tub at the rear, change the shape of the corners in the middle section, reposition the tail gate hingers & make it so the tow bar could be bolted on same as S1.
