    Engine/Gearbox mounts

    G'day All,

I purchased a new set of engine and gearbox mounts for my 80 inch.
I have taken the bolts out etc but cant work out how to undo the clutch rod so I can slightly jack the motor and box up enough to slide the new rubbers in.
I have a workshop manual but my question is: What is the easiest/quickest way to do it.
    Any help appreciated.
(I have the guards, seat box and tub removed so access is easy.)
    Cheers, Dean

S1 X shaft.jpg You need to remove pin No 21 then the X shaft will move back towards the chassis enough to disengage the pipe sleeve, you will then be able to remove it from bush 16 to get the X shaft out of the way. If you are only removing the X shaft to replace the mounts the pipe sleeve & bush are like universal joints & should tilt far enough to be able to replace the mounts without removing the X shaft.
A bit of advice - if the pin is worn never replace it with a bolt it will only sheer when the clutch is pushed in. You need to replace it with the correct hardened pin & you may also need to replace the pipe sleeve No 20

After you've loosened the engine/gearbox mounts, I reckon the uni joints in the linkage will allow enough movement to lift one corner at the time to remove and slide in new rubbers.
