    57 ignition wire set

    Howdy folks,

where do you get a set of ignition wires for a 57 s1 please?

I can see sets for 2,3 and Defenders, but not 1.

i assume (never assume) that they are out there somewhere , but I can’t see them.

do you buy a set for the 2 and then modify them?

all thoughts and comments greatly received as usual.

    thanks,
    D

I presume you mean high tension leads?

The original HT leads would have had solid metal conductors as radios in them were unheard of, and you simply cut lengths off a roll. However, you can probably find a generic set of leads at some places such as repco that can be adapted. This is what I have in my 2a. But some modificatioons to the end fittings may be needed if you have the original conical hard bakelite spark plug connectors and the original distributor cap, and original coil.

The 'old fashioned' copper cored HT lead is available but I'm not sure who would carry it & cut to length.
I purchased a roll years ago and have used it on several Series vehicles, my only complaint is that it wasn't very flexible. There may be some left but you'll need the end fittings, plug caps etc.

    High Tension Terminals

There will be other companies that can supply plus, of course, Ebay.
