Your best bet is to find another windscreen frame - the frame is galvanised so it will need to be regalvanised if you weld them back on. Which, of course is possible; and if doing a top notch restoration you may even be thinking of regalvanising all the bits that are galvanised, in which case there are no minuses to welding them back on - probably simply electric welding, although I think originally they may have been spot welded.

I don't think they were on the Series 1, but it could be the way to go.

You might have to grind off the remnants of the old ones if you wanted to use the strip.

You can't use a Series 2/3 strip - the Series 1 windscreen is wider at the top. But maybe you could use one as a pattern to do something similar.

Thanks to you both - the option to locate another windscreen frame will be the go - not an issue at the moment just one of the things on the list - I have a hardtop I can put on so may not be an issue - haven't made up my mind whether to go with the top or go topless.

Windscreens are usually plentiful as most people who restore an S1 use at least 2. I from the bush with a knackered body and 1 from the coast with a rusty chassis.

You probably need to ask in a location where lots of S1 people are talking which doesn't seem to be on the AULRO for what ever reason that is.

Have you tried Jim Pearl on Russell Island - he seems to have all the S1 contacts up Brisvegas way - Ph:0428 732 001 and has a restored 107.
