Thanks Wayne (and everyone) - I have tried all the usual places in Aust and have gone overseas. Locating a source who advertises three different taillights for the Series 1.
Shall let you know how I go. They are the Pork pie type, 'D' shape and Della type.. Fingers crossed:D
Everyone I have found at home with them - simply wont part with them.
As I said they are difficult to get - I have a pair of the base plates (but gave them away only last week)Quote:

Are you familiar with many Series 1's having the Della type on them? I have only seen ceremonial vehicles with these fitted. However have found that for the 1955 vehicles it may have been common for both types (Pork Pie and Della); seems these ones may be easier to get hold of. :cool:
Had only just sent this reply when I got a message from a supplier in England. He has originals in boxes still (can imagine the price...). Will let you know more when I find out.

Sorry for the late response - at work and as usual it turns to s--t.
I have seen both types of light on these series ones (my fire tender has pork pies's) and I am not to sure of the history behind it. Diana might be the best person to ask - here knowledge amazes me......
As for the "d" lights I have managed to manufacture them my self - and it would only take a good rivet counter to spot the differences.
