Work on the 'ol ute tomorrow

Well the clutch is not original but I have a complete system to go into the ol ute tomorrow. Am so glad that the motor is out and on a stand at the moment. Will probably finish off the paint in the engine bay as well.

I want to be able to put the motor back in in a couple of weeks.

I have attached a coule of before and after shots. Bit bright now but its keeping me occupied until I find one in original knick.

I am thinking about bronze green for this one as well. But I hadn't planned on painting her - just a bit of a polish. It seems that those people around me are changing my mind.

Will gladly clean up your grey motor for you... but it may come back a shade of red and with engine mounts in the wrong spot...

No need to remove all that build up crud if its stopping other leaks on a workhorse. Mines just looking pretty as I am a bit bored and had to have somethin gto do prior to going back to work.

But I cant paint over that old junk with the Grey enamel !, you are right if I clean it off and run it it will spew oil from everywhere, but for the sake off it looking clean and tidy think we can change the sideplate gasket and valve cover and avoid the leaks, still think you will burn me off in a race to 20mph!

A nice clean and freshly painted grey motor would look great. New gaskets on the side plates etc would sort out most oil leaks as well.

I am pretty right at the moment just looking for the dizzy and coil off a VC Commodore (elec type). Could possibly do with spares such as fuel pump, water pump etc if you wanted to get rid of stuff. The alternator will also be the next thing as she will probably only go for a bit (have ignored it to date).

Let me know what you want to get rid of and we can work something out.

Anyway - I'm off as I need sleep. Catch you later. Troy
