I have been stagnant for a couple weeks but have been doing some solid thinking and I am beginning to think more about Diesos and Bio Fuel, these are purely hyperthetical questions, if one was to Dieso a Series1 whats the best donk to use, I am thinking a Hilux Dieso from a later Hilux the bigger motor then the 2.4, no I am gonna be chastised here for mentioning the T word but has anyone thought about Hilux diffs in a Series and maybe the box/case arangement, would it work? my little dog is in labor with her first litter so I will finish the rest later

If you put in a 2.25L diesel, it is nearly the same externally as the original 2L diesel. It would help if you have a late Series I, with the 2" longer under the bonet, as it would then fit no problems.

I have a holden six in there now so room is not a problem, but after a talk with the rego guys today , shes to old for them to be concerned about engineering reports, they are interested however in previous history, seems I have to write to the NSW RTA and see if they will hand over previous rego number and details, without this shes a no go and may as well sell it for scrap
I had same crap from them - according to them I could not register my series 1 unless I can show it has been in Australia since 1957, however they will accept proof of registration elsewhere as evidence - ACT rego authorities are - well you know.
Also they will not register my 101 because it has no compliance plate - until I get an engineers certificate to prove it complies with 1977 ADRs and that I have modified it in some way - there is more than one way to skin a catand I will get around that.
As far as the series 1 is concerned NSW will have records for only 25 years - if it was registered after that you will most likely be out of luck - the cost is $18 and you need to go onto the RTA site to get the form and fax it to the Grafton office. If the ACT does give you grief get it registered in NSW and after the first year change to the ACT - that will provide the evidence - as I said there is more than one way to skin a cat.

Yes I willhave to do some further work, I havent really looked at the back to see if theres a plate, I dont think there is, but I have the other numbers, it would have been on the road in the last 20 years I think under rego, I will try and trace her rego number, shouldnt be too hard, check with Easo actually see what he can do with old owner
G'day G'sD, I tryed to get the rego papers for you when I got her but none were forth coming. The streek came with the land when they bought it. They used it as a wood carting rig. They also mentioned that it had only been out of rego a few years. Witch could mean many many many years.
I'm off to Albury for the weekend and then to the UK on wendsay so time is short. Sorry. Will try thou.

I got 10L / 100km in my IIA 109" 2.25L diesel all the way from Adelaide to Cooma and return aswel. That was loaded with lots of good purchases. Your friends tend to give you their puchases also when you have a traytop, and they only came in a sedan They are good engines if you have a little patients. I am curious how you have fitted a 2.25L engine into a 80" without modification, as this is why LR added the 2" under the bonet in the late Series I's. I assume your fan is close to the radiator without any spacer.

After a week of procrastination and wieghing up the whys and hows of scrapping the Streak or keep going, well I have decided I have too much time invested in it to give it up, the ownership details will be handled one way or another, now onto the path to follow, I am going to continue poking along with the Diesel Idea, there is a conversion available for 2.4 to 2.8 Tojo diesels, so will keep poking along with the body work and other things for the time being, the other alternative is to go LPG, just got to wiegh up the yes and nos
