well so far nothing has gone to plan and my aim of having the gearbox, transfer and the chassis done and painted by the end of the holidays is not looking good so instead of going out drinking for my 18th i came home and went to bed early so i can try and get the chassis ready to paint because i am picking up the parts for gearbox and transfer tomorrow afternoon and there are still a few things i have to get like shims but have to wait

hey here are photos from last weekend and today the welder(machine that is) was working alot better today still not as much as wanted done but i have to fuse weld the gearbox crossmember so i thought instead of working all night ill just do a bit more another day.so far happy with most of the chassis except for the rear crossmember.

there were a few dints and the welds looked crap so i just cant it out and put a new bit of plate in instead

looking up the chassis where i just cut

used the wire wheel to get rid of the paint and bring it back to bare metal just wondering will i have to bring it back to bare metal to paint/prime?

putting in the angles for folding up the gearbox crossmember

had to leave a gap the same thickness as the material so it will fold up equally

the weld wasnt straight but it was still good

the gearbox crossmember all welded up on the outside was very happy with how it turned out

    good welds

you might have to look back at some of the photos to see what parts i have welded but this is the front spring hanger

the back of the piece welded in the front spring hanger

had trouble welding here as the paint wasnt helping as well as the chassis wall was a little bent even though i straighten it a bit oh and the light well of it made it really hard for the first bit untill i got a fluro and stuck it behind me

i thought it wouldnt hurt to add a bit of weld on the braces for the rear crossmember
anyway so next time my goal is to grind the welds up so they are very nice and original looking and to put the bottom bit of plate on and fuse weld it.
anyway i hope you like the pics if any of you need any infor about it specially the crossmember ie. dimensions and angles just ask and i shall deliver

having issues with the parts i ordered prices are not matching up and it seems like they have charged us about $40-$100 to much compared to their catalogue that we got off them about 3 weeks ago.it seems that they have left some parts out and instead of a transfer gasket kit we got some small steel gasket i priced the postage for every detail and it said on the website it should cost $17.80 but they charged $32.i was expecting when i order gearbox and transfer kits that the kits would be complete with all the parts in one big bag(one for the gearbox and one for the transfer)so we have bits everywhere trying to work out what is what.oh and the other thing that is bugging me is they charged us for 9 pinion oil seals and we only have 2 at the most(thats because we only have 2 oil seals the same)frustration is kicking in
