Lets hope for some good news then.
I've never had any mechanical hands on until I took over my S1 from Dad. Since then I have done everything from head gasket to new bearings in diffs and replacing windscreen glass.

    Its very satisfying. Easo

    Cleaning

good to see you have started
but your cleaning is only started
you have a few things to further strip
then clean and clean, then clean again
every bit of crap you do not clean out will run around until it causes something to die.
and when it is clean( like a operating theater)
cover it so no crap from out side comes along and stuff's up what you have just done.
one thing that helps keep your tools clean as well as your hands
also use kero not petrol, it does not dry out, and bit's start rusting very quickly if you use petrol
    cheers
    Ian

yer that was my first clean and we will do it again when we get our parts.i would sooner use kero but dad prefers petrol.i want to make up a bit of a wash tub i know that they are only about $80 but i think i should be able to make something up myself with stuff laying around.we will further strip the parts when we get all the bearings and seals.
