marked up the rear crossmember wings
marked up the gearbox crossmember
cut them out using a guillotine
then folded up the crossmember without putting the 2 major angle in it
cut out the net for the wings and ground and filed them up ready anyway here is a few photos

as you can see some of the welds are bit ordinary i got better welds as a played around with the settings.it pays to practice with the settings first on a bit of scrap before going right into it.owell they still grind up alright

					hi Tony,
great pictures, but please take heed of this warning:In 2 pics I saw you welding totally unprotected. You even seem to have lost your head of hair?
In TAFE you would have been sent outside for 10 mins to reflect.
1: Do not have any skin exposed to the arc. This means even on a very hot day, you wear jeans or overalls covering all your legs etc.
2: No shorts EVER. Your arms are to be covered with long sleeves at all times.
3: Wear a shirt with a collar that can be buttoned up, no neck cleavage.
4: The arc is the same as the sun, but 100 time stronger, so you would be (no hair and freckles etc) very venerable to arc damage.
So cover up and get on with the job in complete safety...
Hey you are doing a great job and have a following that you-tube would be envious of, so just follow the basic rules and live to enjoy your restoration.
Arc induced melanomas are dreadful and difficult to overcome.
I know because I am in that situation right now.......
I was going to send this to you via PM (private message) but thought that it is serious enough to apply to everyone on here, doing restorations and lots of welding.
I hope that you don't mind Tony?
Tata 4 now
Peter
