Picked up up new family member yesterday - 1957 86 hardtop - the kids have called him 'Arfa' because the previous owner used to take him camping at Arthur River and Arthur's Lake here in Tas. Are all S1s male?
Hadn't been able to get to the back of him before now - backed up against a shed (long story). But on winching him onto the trailer was happy to see what I think might be the pork pie lights I see so much talk about - pics attached - can someone confirm?
More pleasant surprises inside - under the hideous seat covers are all original seat back frames and upholstery, front and back, a bit cracked but all there. Rear tailgate fittings all present and working too.
Also - toolbox under passenger seat is full of spare parts - will post photos of those I can't identify - including what I take to be the factory-issue jack, a squat red screw type with square coupling for 2-part handle stored behind the seats. Does anyone know if this sounds like the original?
I know it sounds odd 'finding' all these things after having done the deal, but last weekend I was more worried about rust and engine, not bits.
