    have rivets ... need help

As the title says. Have all the rivets I need to re-attach the panels to the door tops on my 86 and the wheel carrier to the bonnet.

Haven't used the round head or flat rivets before and looking for an expert with the right equipment to show me how it all works.

Preferably in Melb or relatively near.

    Any helpers out there ?

    got the gear, wrong location...

try almost any historic workshop they'll show you how and tell you where to get the gear from for almost nix.

    G'day.

My advice would be to duck over to your nearest (small) airport and knock on the door of an engineering/repair workshop. If they can spare the time I'm sure they'll be happy to show you how it's done on a piece of scrap. There's a knack to it, particularly doing it all yourself.

    Have fun with it.

i have the stuff to rivet it for you also, but you will need to bring it up to the gold coast,
    where in melb. are you?
maybe a trip to morabbin airport and ask around, aircraft engineers usually have the right gear.
and if you're not near there, i may be able to point you at other places.

What size rivets are they? I can get my hands on some 12mm long 3mm dia Al rivets but not sure if they are useful on a Landy.

I made this tool from some 10 mm flat steel in a G clamp shape and I used two cap screws the first to flare the rivet and the second to flatten the rivet to what they look like from the factory, very simple but works well and also very slow. The picture is a series 3 truck cab roof being reattached to the galvanized gutter.
