not much has happened to the s1, still trying to get approval from relative govt bodies to subdivide a house block off a farm so we can get it!!
I have been getting advice re: wiring looms and who to use via a source I would consider very expert, so I sent an email off to this mob....
" vintagecarparts.co.uk " and they seem really good.
They sent the attached Excel doc. with looms and prices, starts at s1 & just keeps going!!...
also there was this "speel" explaining the excel doc.
'Digger" , thankyou for your enquiry this is the explanation for the product list as I promised.
reading columns:
column B - loom reference number
column C - total number of cable pieces in loom, this includes odd pieces off the main loom, but does not include the cables up the steer column stator tube nor the battery to starter heavy leads which is NOT included in the loom anyway.
column D - finish - B is cotton braid
- P is plastic PVC. the outer is braided or taped, and the cables are colour coded to original colours.
thus BB is colour coded cotton braid cables with braided outer binding. PB is colour coded pvc cables with braided outer binding.
PP is colour coded pvc cables with plastic taped outer binding
column E - our understanding of the year coverage of the item
column F and G - model reference name
column H - identifying features apparent to distinguish different patterns
column I - price of item. this is subject to carriage and VAT is applicable within EU.
if the listing is for a BB loom as standard, a PB loom can be supplied at a saving of 10% on the price shown.
most looms are made to order, however some popular looms are made in batches and sometimes available from stock. it is assumed that looms
are made 'as standard' as though the vehicle has been despatched from works originally. however modifications always included are that
headlamps are both dipping (against early one dips on solenoid and other goes out) and brake lights are included.
additional costs commonly sought are adding flashers to each corner - typical cost additional £10.00 to cost, however you will be
questioned by us on where the switch and flasher unit etc is to be fitted before we proceed on manufacture.
additional wires normally to rear for high intensity rears or reversing lamp can be incorporated at additional cost
if a vehicle was originally 6 volt, there is no problem at all in fitting these looms to 12 volt systems. similarly conversion from
Negative or Positive earth.
on later vehicles conversion from dynamo to alternator can be incorporated at additional cost on individual request.
please note that we do not become involved with sound system wires etc incorporated at all.
postage approx £25

Your one lucky landy lover, looking at some of those parts its like finding gold, good luck
hi digger
I under stand you position completely, I would do the same in a similar circumstance. My link might prove useful for others wanting an Australian loom at a price. Alan Taylor is very competent and even makes looms for the military forces. (Kevin's best mate no less). But I hope that this is of some help to someone out there with a series one landie?........:D
Hi
a little Fairy told me a story
may not be true
