    and in saying all that if it has a canvas roof door locks are useless to keep the determined out

    thats where you need a kill switch

    here are some pics of what we've done so far. bought some 65mm x 3mm steel bar to patch it.

    hi

    no were not taking the firewall off because we put a camera in the hole and there is no rust anywhere else.

    You will be better off with some sheet steel about the same thickness as the bulkhead panel.

    I use 1mm cold-rolled, which is very easy to panel beat to shape,

    I'm sure that rust didn't grow from the outside in. It comes from the inside out. Water must be getting in there. Check areas above the rust. Take special attention of the metal under the vent seal.

    Its can be a rotter... literally.

    im asuming most people know this but i will say it anyway rust is the metal oxydising and the atoms in the metal move up the steel so thats why you have to check even though it might just be rusted through in a part doesnt mean its in other areas most likely it is
