I took some photo's but left it a little late in the day and they haven't come out too good. In fact, it was quite difficult to work out what was what and I know it! I'll try again tomorrow with jacking the front up nice and high and setting up some work-lights to flood the area under the front end. It'll also take some time to maybe edit and label the parts in the photo's, as explaining the power steering components might be tricky. Sorry for the delay in proceedings.
    Cheers

Getting back to the original non-power steering part of the thread. There is a difference between the SII/SIIa and the SIII column. While they will swap physically the SIII has a different blinker attachment designed to be covered by a plastic shroud that mates with the SIII dash.

It may look out of place fitted to a SII/SIIa firewall.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

Right you are. It won't be pretty but hopefully it will do the job for the time being.
    Thanks,
    Dave.

    G'day Kodez23

The later 2a from 67 onwards had a rubber dished steering wheel which, to achieve the same driving/wheel position the column was shortened by aprox 1+ inch, the steering box is common to the series 3 but they have lower quality internals, you could use the box and shaft and by using the column sleeve from an earlier 2/2a still get the correct result, OR you could use an early 2/2a steering assembly(sprung wheel type) until you get a correct later 2a one.

    cheers

    Hey, Kodez23

Get on to Pick and Pay in Melbourne(wagoo's post) and see if that SWB is a later 2a with a rubber type steering wheel, late type 2a, could be the source of parts, maybe Wagoo could get them for you, it's worth a try.

Useful info, thanks. I'll make do with my donor Series 3 steering set up for the moment, I'm still trying to keep costs down to absolute essentials (only costs so far being wd40, manuals, towing of completely seized Series 3, a ball joint separating tool and a case or two of beer).
I have my eye on some 2a's lying around that eventually may well be purchased for parts if needed.
    Cheers,
    Dave.
