Tilt care instructions
Canvas is a natural product which will shrink and stretch. This hood has been made slightly larger to allow for this.
The hood will not OVER shrink as long as all four ropes are inserted into the hood and tied down tightly when you fit the hood to the vehicle.
Three of the ropes are laced through the sides and back flap of the hood and tied off. the fourth rope (the longest) is inserted through the fold of canvas on the inside where the back flap is stitched to the top of the hood.
It is very important is used and tied down securely.
Do not use the eyelet in the top of the back flap for this rope until the hood has weathered in. Once the hood has settled into shape the top rope can be threaded through this eyelet and tied off.
Do not leave the hood draped over the vehicle as this will lead to over shrinking.
Once fitted let the hood naturally shrink and stretch until it has settled. this normally takes about three (3) months.
Do not soak the hood with water, use a pressure hose or chemicals as this will adversely affect the colour and water proofing.
Once the hood has settled the side and back ropes can be changed to bungee cord but not the top rope.
It is advisable to re-waterproof the canvas every year after the first twelve (12) months.
