Diff overhaul - DIY?

yep, typically if you're rebuilding a diff about 80% of the time so long as you are keeping the crown wheel and pinion you dont really need the blocks even if you are replacing the bearings. Install it with the same shim sizes and see where it goes, it'll usually be close enough that you can guess it in on attempt 2 or 3.

if its close one or 2 more goes usually gets it.

IF your dropping and unknown CW+P into an unknown housing all bets are off.

I did a Stinking VR Commondore diff on Saturday morning, took 1.5 hours from drive on the hoist to drive out the door, it was like working on a lego toy:D Agree Matt, I just put pinion bearings in, carrier were like new so needed minimum fuss. Typical howling poorly put together rubbish we pass off as good local product:mad:
