See the picture I posted of the rear door, I assumed that is a spare tire mount on there, but it looks a little bit low to be. What is it for?

it doe slook like it would be for a spare tyre but this is really low
The early wagons had the tyre mount really low, I think you could use the tyre mount or the towbar, but not both together. I remember a friend's dad when I was a kid moved his up so he could use both and had the marks where the tyre mount used to be.

Nice wagon. Just one question did you purchase it in Rockhampton?
Cheers Jeff
Do you know of it?
Yes if its the one I think it is, I went to primary school with the son of the people who owned it. I can remember him telling us stories of living in New Guinea and can remember him being droped off at school by his mum in it. I have scene it around Rocky for as long as I can remember and it was always in immaculate condition. You are very lucky that is one nice Landrover.

Yes this sounds like it then.
Great to see that it is in good hands, I will watch with interest your rebuild, might have to come and have a look next time I'm home in Rocky.
Cheers Jeff
Thanks. More questions, what are the brackets and straps on the rear of the front seats for? Also, it has a pair of these Lucas fog lamps on it but one has the lens missing, any ideas where to get a lens?
