Should it have 2 badges on the grill? I'm thinking just the top one, the bottom one looks the same as the one on the rear, it has had the writing cut out and a tin can behind it with a light bulb in it, when the bulb is turned on LAND ROVER is illuminated.
Also the signal lenses are not all the same, is this normal? I thought it should have all pointy ones like the indicator?
I am sorting through the box of spares that came with it and amongst all the gaskets and books there is a new wiring harness, some lenses, rear view mirror, few land rover boxes with seals and heaps of other stuff. Plus a whole treasure chest of goodies under the passenger seat.

No, the station wagon badge should only be on the back. Owner addition I suspect.
Turn indicators were not standard fitting in 1960, and I would guess that it may have after market indicators fitted (possibly, but unlikely, by the dealer in Port Moresby) for which replacement lenses could not be found, hence others were used.

That makes sense then. Any clues as to the brackets and the straps on the back of the front seats?
Thanks for the pic. I picked up the other spare wheel for it this week (have 2) I will mount it up on the rear and check it out. Have to get the tow bar bolts off first.
No idea what the straps are for - never seen anything like that. The foglight was a standard item in 1960. Replacements are probably still around as "new old stock". Brian Hjelm has several times given the contact for a man who has large stocks of old Lucas parts, would be a good place to start. Otherwise, try any long established auto electrician or auto parts supply place amy have some. My memory says that that is a driving light, not a fog light, despite the yellow colour - the otherwise identical foglight had a fluted glass to give a spread flat beam, where the driving light had a plain glass.

Your right. I have never seen a fog lens that is clear. If I can't find another yellow one I may have to get a pair of clear ones.
The hella lamps are wrong, The stop tail should be the same Lucas 581 lamps as on the SII and SIIa military and the indicator lamps should be the domed Lucas 639 (IIRC) in amber same as on the front as best as I can see, but many people use Lucas 594 (Same as on Mini minor) because they are easier to acquire.
You should also get the rubber boot for the front indicator lamps.
You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
Got the water pump off a couple days ago, its toast, the bearing has locked up and spun in the housing, effectivly making it un repairable. And, of course it is the 8 bolt hole hard to find a replacement one. yay.
i found a mob that did them for 220 pound from england, new unit.
