Just to reinforce what the others have said - remove the pedal box - six bolts from inside. A ninety degree turn as you lift the assembly out so the pedal goes through the footwell.

Doesn't work for me either. I think it is probably a temporary problem - I visited Dave yesterday and he was pretty busy, so may take a while to get fixed (day or two not longer I would expect).
