SupporterI have a '59 SWB (allocation book lists it as 11/59) and whilst the front badge has mismatched screws, the rear is rivetted on and I have no reason to think it has ever been removed, but cannot guarantee it!.
I also have a '59 SWB Command Recon, and again no reason to believe the badges are not original.
Both these vehicles have "Solihull Warwickshire" badges........
thank all
looks like the solihull badge is the winner
it would be the one i don't have

SupporterMy Command Recon was brought home for parts, and I very much doubt that I'll ever do anything with it. It has some parts that seem quite rare, bridge plates, weird inverted exhaust manifold etc. but some major bits have gone (gearbox, seatbase, roof etc.) and as I'm already working on a civvy '59 SWB the CR is about the least likely resoration candidate of all the vehicles in my "car park".
On that basis I'd be happy to swap the Solihull nameplates on it for a Zenith carb adapter if you can find one...!

SupporterLet me know if you've got one and we can pm or email postal addresses!
If the weight is the small lump on the shaft (feels like four sides of differing lengths, about the size of a 20c coin but perhaps 10mm thick), rather than anything else, then it seems to be there. Hard to tell without knowing what I'm looking for, especially as the vehicle is too hot to lean on at the moment and the manifold is covered with suspicious looking spiders webs!!!
My civvy '59 has a more normal manifold with a downward pointing exit, and the weight on it doesn't seem to be the same - but I'm trying to compare the two things by feel with a couple of hours in between!
My 1959 Command Recon I had which is 5 ARN's away from Daddy had Birmingham plates
My 61 Workshop has 1st edition Rover Australia plates
For the record, CKD's are all over the place on parts and no's
