There is one minor difference between the early 2a steering wheel horn connection and the later one.
In the early one (that I showed ^^^) the button assembly relies on its serrated teeth to make the earth connection to the hub of the wheel when you assemble it.
In the later one, there is an extra wire on the button assembly that attaches to a tab that is under the nut that holds the steering wheel on to the column.

I have the early one with serrated teeth. What I thought was a slip ring is a polished steel collar at the top of the column that is def. earthed.
It's obviously in that polished state to receive a (?) copper or brass sleeve with insulation and to which is attached a "pig-tail" to receive the power supply. That's what's missing.

Almost the same indicator stalk as mine-likewise held on with a hoseclamp. Mine wasn't built with indicators. Definately aftermarket in my case and likely yours too ;)

Steve, that my boy is (IMHO) the best of the orig LR colours: Masai Red.
I thought about Poppy Red but it was a bit too girly & was not available in acrylic and two-pack is beyond my spray infrastructure i.e. a big shed with a gravel floor.

John that's quite fixable. It pulls out via the lamp.
You have to solder a wire into the spring base & thread it back.
Don't lose the spring like I did. I had to solder the wire direct to the base of the lamnp but it works.
Alternatively, its a 4 wire SW so one must be for an additional tell-tale light.
