This is what came off.

Gawd! I remember these from my VW Country Buggy!

I'm guessing the correct ones are a combo of separate round ones like on SWB & LWB utes?

With a trayback, were they mounted on brackets?

Photos would be nice.

I have the early one with serrated teeth. What I thought was a slip ring is a polished steel collar at the top of the column that is def. earthed.

It's obviously in that polished state to receive a (?) copper or brass sleeve with insulation and to which is attached a "pig-tail" to receive the power supply. That's what's missing.
