That Serial number makes it an early 1959 RHD fully assembled export model, 2.25 petrol motor.

I don't have a list of engine numbers, but I feel that is probably the original motor. Your description of how it runs and drives sounds right for the 2.25 motor in good condition.

For sales of Series 2 Landrovers, have a look at "Marketplace Alerts" in this forum, but be aware that descriptions are not always accurate, and prices are the asking price, not what it sells at. I am aware of a pair of 2a Landrovers being sold near here recently for under $2,000 the pair. They did not look as good as this one though, and were unregistered.

Note that there are not many on the market, though, so getting an indicative price will be difficult. You could look at the prices of them in the UK in several magazines such as LROI, where there are a lot more, but you would need to subtract the cost of shipping and import to the UK to use these prices, and, again, remember that in general prices quoted are asking not selling prices.
