The chassis number on a Series 3 is shown on the attached photograph. It may sort out at least what your chassis is, when it was made and what engine it originally had fitted to it. As long as the chassis was not swapped at some stage. The Meccano like nature of the Series Land Rovers can be both a blessing and a curse with the amount of interchangeable parts.
Also the spring hanger in the photograph is quite long. This also means that my vehicle that the photo was taken off was in military service - apart from the special plates fitted to the passenger side seat box.
What engine is currently fitted to your vehicle by the way? Petrol or Diesel and how many cylinders?
Could you post your chassis number up?
