Where can I buy these - large diameter tail lights and clutch/brake reservoir

    Hi all

My Series 2A/3 bitza has the larger diameter stop and indicator lights at the rear. Ignore the reversing light - it looks like a hella or similar.

Where can I buy these? I have searched the net and found the red lens, but not the amber.

Also, I need to replace the brake/clutch reservoir as the cap is cracked. Any ideas here?

    Thanks heaps

You can get a replacement cap from a trailer parts shop.
The reservoir is a little more difficult. Is it one or two outlet?

    Hi Mick

You talking about getting a reservoir cap from a trailer shop? It feeds both clutch and brake so therefore two outlet.

Yep. I got my caps from a trailer parts supplier in Ballarat.
The two outlet reservoir is hard to get but they can be found. The 101FCC&R have them available in their parts shop. They organise replacements to be manufactured for their club members, so, a great reason to buy a 101.
I have toyed with the idea of converting a single outlet one to two outlet using the metal bits on the bottom of the old reservoir.
There is a fellow that advertises metal ones on ebay. I think they are for series 2.

The amber and red tail lamps are Lucas as fitted to Series II and the Australian Army vehicles. They were discontinued in 1962 on civilian SIIa replaced by Sparto lamps, and in 1964 by the large Wipac stop tail/lamp which continued till 1972 with the introduction of the SIII.

If I were you and have a SIIa/SIII bitsa, I'd look for the larger Wipac Stop/tail and sell your oh so hard to find SII Lucas lamps to a military Landy restorer.

In the late SIIa (probably from around 1967) the amber flasher lamps and front clear side lamps were lucas and are essentially indistinguishable from the Lucas and Wipac lamps for Defender.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

    Hi Diana

Thanks for the suggestion. The current amber lens are very badly cracked and faded. I'll be lucky if they don't fall into pieces when I go to remove them. Thanks for the suggestion on the Wipac units. I see there are LED's ones available.

    Nathan, thanks for looking.

    I'll keep looking
