    How high?

Just finished replacing the springs in my IIA 109 with parabolics. Looks like it's had a 6 inch body lift as the measurement at the tailgate is 4 feet 7 inches, a good 6 inches above where it used to be.
It's hard to look into the tub without being on tippy toes now (I'm 6 foot tall).
Has anybody else had the same result?

Did you get the right ones? There's 3 different types - versions for the 88", standard 109" and HD 109". If they are the right ones, throw a few hundred KG in the back and go for a drive down a bumpy road to see if they settle - I've heard that they do, and that they don't always settle even leaving the vehicle lopsided.
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.

Unfortunately it's not quite ready for a road test as of yet. Soon :-)

That doesn't make much sense, ,4'7'' and you can't see into it and you are 6' tall, that would mean your eyes are nearly 11''s higher.

I used normal rubber bushes for the chassis and springs, plenty of anti seize.
Might have been exaggerating a little when I said I couldn't see into the tub, but it is jacked up at the rear so much so that the shockies at full stretch are an inch and a half too short. The front is fine.
The light at the end of the tunnel is turning out to be a train.

By no means an expert, but advice given to me before was to load a decent load in the tub and to take a drive with relatively loose suspension bolts to let it all settle in...

Obviously a bit of an issue if you're a non runner at this stage, but don't panic too much until you've been able to.

    Cheers,

    Lou

I was going to say as above...loosen the spring bushes bolts, nuts and plates not forgetting the threaded plates, and go for a small drive to settle the springs a bit then while the landy is still on the ground with vehicle weight on the springs, tighten up the bolts and plates and nuts. The springs will settle lower in time and you will need to loosen them again and retighten again so as not to put undue strain on the bushes.

    Cheers Rod

Oh and recheck the u bolt tightness from time to time.😆
