    Thanks Colin,

Yes might be. I bought the full Exmoor thermal and acoustic matting system for my Tdci Defender and I had to go through the distributor as they apparently didn't want to take business away from their loyal distributors.

I actually don't mind too much to be honest, as I do most Exmoor deals (as well as most Defender bits) through Devon 4x4 as I have done for years. Good service, fair prices and reasonable shipping rates.

I actually imported 6 x ZU Alloys for the Defender back in 2011 to rural WA from Devon 4x4 for less than I could but 4 over the counter in Perth!

My 1958 2.0 liter apparently has a few unique features to the hood/ tilt and WW Spares appear to be the only supplier that's across that, hence my intention of getting it from there.

    Cheers,

    Lou

Digging up this old thread, but now kinda looking into the costs with putting on a canvas top on my 88". Any further experience on this, cost, quality, issues etc?

Are second hand ones hard to find, or anyone selling one?

Not cheap at all. I think that second hand will be almost as much as new IF you can find them. I tried to have someone source me a full set, (sticks and hood), he's been in the game a long time and couldn't/can't get a hold of any. I've been advised to just go new, which is probably what I will do.
Strangely, I found a car myself which is thought to be the same as yours Dave,,,I've been told NOT to bastardize it if I should get it

I borrowed a hoop off a friend & had them made in aluminum in Brisbane by a mobile pipe rolling Co for my 80" . I used Aliminum as it's O/D was close to the origional galv steel ones , I could not find steel pipe the correct size. It was much cheaper than getting them from the UK. The freight for such a large item is a killer. The tilt is an Exmore Trim one from Cruddocks.20180716_113822_001.jpg

1" Gal Electrical conduit is the exact stuff , you can get it from Middys, The hoops are easy to make.
the 5/8 gal electrical conduit for the small connector rods is harder to find , but Aluminium is ok.

I think I have some spare window surrounds here .

The sharks tooth thing across the top of windscreen will be the hard to find/ hard to make part.

I bought a new Undercover Cover, (SWB 88") was $800 Landed, Bargain .

This is fantastic, what I needed to read. Sounds like a very real option! Thanks.
