    2.25 front cover, breakage

So whilst doing the front seal part of the front cover is broken. Looks like it's been like that for a while. So my question is, do I need a replacement or will a bit of stag (or something else fix it?

I would say replace it, Unless you can weld cast iron or know of a good welder of same. Be easier to find another housing I think.

the bit that has broken off is only a mount brace. if you clean it up and use something like devcon to hold it in place when the bolt is tightened up it will still transfer pressure from the head of the bolt down onto the casting as intended.

I would degrease it thoroughly, hit it with some phosphoric acid clean it off use some devcon or metal glue and then paint it once its all setup.
