My 87 year old mate dropped around today and gave me a tutorial on how to operate this beastie
Attachment 130874
This should help me make some sense of this
Attachment 130875 Attachment 130876
His parting words were "I've destroyed a lot of cars to learn what I know"[bighmmm]
Cheers Paul
I've lost my way a bit here and some help would be appreciated[bigwhistle]
Attachment 131004 Ok the three warning lights ,charging cold start and oil press where do the red male bullet ends go? have I lost some of the wiring[bigsad]
Also the white female bullet connector....... wots this for, (original loom)?
Coming out of loom is a purple female connector that looks as if it hasn't been used judging by dust inside
Attachment 131005Lucas wire code has it as Accessories fed direct from battery via fuse (always live).......so I'm guessing I don't need it.
Finally Alternator I have wiring that connects to thisAttachment 131006 Attachment 131007
I'm guessing round end goes on post with nut....but the blue female spade connector I labelled "Ground " when I pulled out wiring but I cant find a male spade connector on the alternator???
Cheers Paul
Eyelet connector goes to bat+ terminal with nut on alt push on usually dash warning light goes to d+ connector which is at back of alt
Alternator wired ,and my old mate came and gave some advice re warning lights
red wires need to be connected into ignition switch so possibly I have lost some wiring.
his parting words "just remember when you remove the key everything must be dead no power" .Makes sense to me, although I do remember starter button turning over motor with no key.
Cheers Paul
It will but no power to coil if ignition is off.
Bit of an update

I've got a lot of electrical problems to solve........no indicators, high low beam, tacho or fuel gauge[bawl] but my old mate is coming around tomorrow to have a look, recons its all easy fix[bigrolf]
Engine bay once wiring is 100% I'll tidy it all up with corry pipe
Attachment 131273
This is my take on trying to get a non stranded clutch master to marry up with LR bits
Attachment 131274
Car starts and runs clutch and brakes could do with more bleeding but they work........went for a drive using 1st and reverse however I can only get low range, when I let the clutch out in high I can hear gears not quiet meshing and no forward or backward motion.
My gut feeling is select lever has not enough travel towards bulkhead what is the arc distance between high and low at the knob?
Attachment 131275
Manual shows spacers on transfer lever mounting bracket is there a set length for these?, as I'm sure I didn't have them before and I didn't put them in. or is it trial and error?
Attachment 131276
Will pull drivers floor up and have a good look tomorrow ...............only took an hour of jiggling to get transfer leaver rubber gaiter bolted in[bigsad]
Cheers Paul
Fun fun fun its all fun.
Cheers Rod
Didn't get to lifting floor and cancelled electrical guru's visit as weather was pretty awful and said guru is getting on in years.
Occurred to me that I've been at this project for exactly 12 months now according to my postings:wacko:
