    Terrible situation. I went for a drive a few weeks ago to Rapville in Northern NSW. Poor locals copped an absolute pizzling down there. One house fine, the next two like the attached.

    No we only got about 10 mm from the rain coming down the NSW coast from the north and the heavy Gippsland falls never made it this far.
    Town is safe and road is open to residents as far as Cann River so Karen back yesterday
    Still fire ticking away in Croajingalong Park and Conran Coastal Park but DWELP crews are doing a great job on containing it. We cross paths with these crews every now and then and seem to see the same faces day or night

    I found those photos you posted very interesting, it looks like the fires have traveled through the base of the forest.

    Correct Mick there was a very high fuel load on the forest floor

    Yep wood cutting season opens on Tuesday.
    These are in a national park so out of bounds

    plenty of easy gets around close to home on the bitumen though
