The air cleaner in your engine pic is a giveaway that it has a (holden) Stromberg carby fitted with what appears to be an adjustable main jet.
As Gromit says - indicators were not standard, and when that one was sold, almost certainly not even fitted by the dealer. I fitted indicators to my Series 2 I bought S/H in 1963 - I would have to look at photos to tell you where I put them!Quote:

The Stromberg would have been fitted because this was a far cheaper option at the time than repairing the original Solex carburettor. With these no longer available for peanuts from any wrecker, this is no longer the case. Parts for the Solex are available, and I suspect that Chinese made copies of the whole unit are as well - certainly they are for the Zenith that replaced the Solex in Landrovers about 1966.Quote:

The whole thing seems to be rewired with random cabling. Mainly red under the bonnet. Some just cut off and not going anywhere.
Good news is it already has an alternator installed.
It doesn't even try and turn over which I suspect is going to be part of the crazy wiring.
Can't seem to find a chassis number. Can someone explain in detail where it is?

chassis number is stamped into the rear spring hanger mount for the left rear spring. see pic of one of mine.
