Transmission tunnel problem

Military often modified the chassis with a removable cross member, however it still bolted up to the main chassis rails as far as I know. Others on here will have better and more accurate information about that.

I have just been refurbishing a 2A 88 that has had a lot of mods done on it by a previous owner. It's annoying to say the least, when people get the welder or angle grinder out and do these basically permanent things, creating hardship and a lot of work for a future owners. In saying that I am fitting a non standard motor, but it's all bolt on, bolt off, mods.

Looking at the second picture it looks like a modified mounting made for the Holden motor.
I've recently parted out a LWB fitted with a Holden motor and that mounting looks familiar. Has the previous owner tried to use the Holden mounts ?
To be honest I'm not sure whether the standard engine mounts take the 200Tdi motor but someone will know.

Looking at the first picture, the gearstick is sitting too high as well as too close to the bulkhead.

Although thinking about it......if it's a Series III it would have had a 6-cylinder LR motor originally.

if you have the removable transmission mount member (not the cross member under the bell housing) turn that around.

The standard mounts bolt onto the 200tdi with no modifications needed.

If it has had a Holden motor fitted, investigate whether they moved the mounts on the chassis,

Thanks everyone for the input.
Swapped over gearbox mounts and the whole thing came across and back to acceptable placement.
Lesson: always check previous owners work and never assume things were done to your standard or expectation.

Now...... If only I could release that seized harmonic balancer. Already turned the cheap puller from Autobarn into a banana. Just fabricated another out of real steel and waiting for Monday to buy longer bolts.

I heated the harm bal with a little flame without any effect. With the heat damage the rubber on the harm balancer, and have can I tell if it's be damaged?
