EDIT: I checked out Protex and I cannot see any listing for the 109 (11x2.5) brake shoes, only the OE 88 10" ones

Ill check Repco seeing as there's one locally too, didn't think about them.
This was the protex part number for the 109.

I got mine from an Ebay store 'Spareszone' he is still selling them now, they are about $80 a set delivered.

    My first series 2a project

Thanks for the part number, but can only get rear, not front shoes. I did buy a set of rear shoes from Repco, he told me that these had been sitting on the shelf so long he sold them to me for $40. I asked if he had fronts, but none.

On the seal sagas, I replaced the pinion seal with another ****part one as it needed to be done quickly, but yesterday I noticed the drivers side rear hub seal was leaking! I am plagued with seal issues at the moment.

When I get time ill be chatting with a bearing supplier here to price up some seals for hubs, pinion and gbox outputs, to have on hand cos no doubt the ones I have will not last!

Thanks to the collective wisdom of this forum I have learned more about the rear hubs! I changed over the rear drivers side hub seal, absolutely no reason for failure as the distance piece was new (I installed). I got it all back and did notice that the grease that I packed the bearings with was all washed away by diff oil, so they where nicely oiled. THis got me researching the topic and its through here I learned that the early style drive flange with the bolt was for oil filling/draining. So once assembled I added oil so I now know that the bearings are fully 'oil bathed'... however this means the seals need to be in good order (see the conundrum).

On another note, have been driving the S2a every chance I get and I finally took the top off!
