I have a Fairey lever assembly in the shed, I'll take a picture later when I'm back home.
The Toro overdrive is apparently very similar to the Fairey.
Going by this advert it's a Toro https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/mack...ive/1164430642

All good,,, it is in actual fact a Toro,,, too easy [biggrin]
Marcus, here is a replacement Fairey coupling gear/sleeve.
There is not a brand name or anything stamped or cast into the overdrive body to help identify it.
Confusing.

The pic below is the coupling gear/sleeve out of your overdrive and the other one I had.
21 teeth I think it is and the Fairey has more.
Cheers, Mick.
Thanks Mick,
I've got bigger problems though. It seems the teeth that interlock that gear are buggered. I'll have to attempt to source one, or have one made.
At this point, I now have two options for the long drive ahead. Either swap the diff out and not use 4x4, or look at getting the trans box re-geared,, (preferable).
I'll weigh up my options.
21 Teeth on the unit I have Mick.
Hmm,, Ok, due to time restraints, I've decided I'll leave her gearing as is for the moment. The biggest problem I face at this point is time taken to travel,,, something quite frankly, I'm not really worried about. It'll just give me a bit more time to sight see along the way [biggrin][thumbsupbig] ,,, and as an added bonus, it means Leeanne who will be following me with the D4+ 21' van can feel a bit easier on the drive.
So tonight when I got home, I started getting the springs ready for fitment. Making sure all the tools are ready etc. Finding stuff in my shed at the moment is well,,, [bigwhistle] and then there's the room needed,,, it's a bit tight, but we'll manage. [biggrin]
Might have a look at the uni's along the way too,, would hate to get part way and have them fail. Will also do a total fluids change as well. Ohhh, got to fit up the UHF too,,, no doubt my ear will be chewed off along the way. [bigwhistle]
Don’t forget you have access to a workshop if need be...
have been following your Cooma preparations with some interest as I'm making the same journey[smilebigeye]
initially I was going to drag Jade there on a trailer but you got me thinking, googling home to Cooma throws up a distance of just under 150 miles..........assuming an average speed of 40-45mph as she's a bit old and don't want to push things, gives a travel time allowing for stops of about 4hrs, I'm starting to think driving there could be a bit of an adventure, will need to sort roof perhaps as weather is an unknown.
Have clocked up 200miles since rebuild so I'm confident of cars ability, but am a little bit concerned as to what effect I'm going to have on Easter holiday lunatic drivers cruising so slowly.......worst part will be Princes HWY to Cann River.....thinking Monaro will be fairly quiet
Hmmmmm ya got me thinking
Cheers Paul
Thanks Tom,, very much appreciated, as always, a true gentleman. [biggrin] Unlike his-nibs just around the corner here. [bigwhistle]
Oi, listen here numb nuts,,, [tonguewink] So,,, where will yours be during Cooma,, ahh, thats right [bigwhistle]
I'll give you reading between the lines,,,, :bat:
