Don't recognise the one on the right, the left one looks like mine, except that on mine the rollers and cage were all at the bottom of the transfer case.
Maybe a repair done by someone who couldn't get parts?
I was lucky I bought bearing and clutch sleeve about 3 yrs ago and never got around to fitting them.
    Have to do it now...

Yep, that’ll be a home made fix for sure. What’s the other end ( mating end ) look like, have you got a pic of it ?
Im wondering how it would work.

This certainly doesn’t look like a home made job. There are no obvious welds and it seems to have been fabricated like this from day one.
Could it be a Toro insert?? Or a hybrid from some other brand??

On closer inspection, I can see that a grinder or file has reshaped the sleeve, probably to overcome damaged teeth. Quite a good job I reckon, befitting a landie enthusiast!
The end on the mainshaft looks worn and I guess must have been welded on.
The rest of the unit is in good condition and probably worth persevering with if I source a new sleeve and mainshaft.

Thanks for the extra pic. It looks like a good job thats been done, would love to have a really close inspection of it myself.
Mines damaged, so I cant use it, so this could be an idea to get mine back in action.

I can't see the hex drive lasting long, think about the drive contact area, the hex has six points of contact, the spline has a lot more. There is a reason splines are so common in the transmission industry.

    Cheers.
