    Gearbox mounts

    Wise ones.

Is the smaller of the 2 gearbox mounts supposed to be on the RHS? Mine is on the LHS and my new rubbers are already looking like the old ones, so i am hoping the brackets have been switched at some time { i did one side at a time, wasn't me}.
    Thank you in advance

My gearbox mounts were the same size. They were also the same size as the engine mounts I believe.

Those little metal feet? They were both the same on mine also.... But now with some googling, I see they are meant to be different.
That does explain certain issues I had putting it back together.... haha.
Might be having a good look at what I actually have when I get home from work.

As it happens I removed two gearboxes yesterday

    Gearbox 1 IMG_4368.jpg IMG_4361.jpg IMG_4364.jpg

    Gearbox 2 IMG_4367.jpg IMG_4365.jpg

    From my bible IMG_4363.jpg

If I'm processing all this information correctly gearbox 1 was mounted correctly.......

I did notice a 1/8" shim under passenger mount when I removed gearbox 2

    Hope this helps you

    Cheers Paul

Thanks clever people, will get some new rubber mounts and switch the brackets over....one day
Would explain why the gearstick base, where it comes through the floor, is hard against the LHS and I can't get the boot on and why the new rubber mount on the RHS is looking like the Tower of Pisa
