Hey Paul
Nice find you have there. Does that have 2 filler necks on each side?
Are the additional ones petrol or water tanks?
Cheers Ian
Time to start a build thread to keep me moving a bit faster, vehicle will be painted Mid Grey/Limestone hence name and powered by a Rover 2.25.
When I got it, it had a red 202 Holden
As much as I would like to save the patina I've decided to respray as there is a massive amount of welding to be done on all the steel bits plus a lot of bog in panels.
Some before pictures....car is completely stripped and I have a rust free chassis now but still a lot of rust to be addressed, watch this space.
IMG_3757.jpg IMG_3760.jpg Just to fore warn rivet counters may be offended by some of the changes I'm going to make but the original chassis was cactus with rust
Cheers Paul

You must now cut down the tallest tree in the forest... With... A HERRING!!!!!
Got the rear diff centre back into the housing today, this took way longer than I expected due to me not paying attention to the condition of the housing bolt/studs, so I had to replace them with some from a spare front housing I had. Threading the lock wire through the heads inside the casing is a bit of an art.

Both hub oil seal lands were a bit iffy so I changed them, from the manual I expected them to shatter when cold chiselled but its more kinda drifting them off

Hub nut spanner is perfect for drifting new one on

Got brake shoes on

Never understood how you can sheer off these items... I used a chisel and hammered in 3 locations on it and it was enough to spread it open to slide off.

Good to see that you are back in a Land Rover project - I was worried you might turn to the sail boat.
Good luck on this project - I have a very original 1963 Series 2a LWB if you want any photo's.
Cheers
Angus
