When the Series 2a took over from Series 2, the major difference was a new chassis numbering system. The first of these was to add an "A" suffix to the number. From then on, while continuing to make continuing changes, whenever the changes accumulated significantly, they went to the next letter. Some steps aremuch more significant than others - probably the most significant is from suffix "C" to "D", with the changes including, major electrical changes (pos to neg earth, different instruments, different wiper setup etc.), also went to the bent handbrake lever.Quote:

Australian assembled series vehicles differed from those built O/seas because of the required local content rules,so checking Calven will only give British/Europe information,all vehicles built in Australia were done in Sydney by "Pressed Metal Corporation" with some bodies built built in Qld.
