    Spare Parts Series II

Gday All, Ive havent been active on the forum for a long time so out of touch. Had a series III for a time, I used to buy parts (by phone) from a supplier who lived in blue mountains area . Forgot his name, lost numbers etc, Is he still active?

Question: Series II - I'm looking to buy brake wheel cylinders, master cylinder, and other brake components as well as a few (prob lots) other new spares. May I ask who the go-to suppliers are these days. Used to buy from the UK as well but freight prices was always a concern. Message me if more appropriate. thanks Nighthawk.

I get most of my parts from All four x 4, but any of the Landrover specialists will be similar. Series 2 parts are mostly easy to get and pretty cheap, except for a few bits such as 2.0 diesel special parts.

Even with freight, buying from the UK usually works out cheaper than buying locally. This changed a bit when GST was added on imports under $1,000 but still savings to be made.

Typically the same parts as you'd get locally (**itpart, Bearmach etc.).

Most charge in AUD and collect the GST.

The only drawback is should a part be wrong or faulty it's costly to return although speaking to the supplier may get a replacement part sent FOC.

So pay a premium and have local support or save money and buy overseas.

For what it's worth, I tend to use a combination of suppliers either in Australia or the UK, depending upon the item. Generally, parts are pretty cheap and easy to get. PM me if you want any details.

    Cheers,

    John
