I would say it is adjustment on the striker pin. This is adjustable with a locknut.
A note on bonnets. The standard bonnet, as seen above, comes in two varieties, either four bolt hinges or three bolt hinges. They are interchangeable, the only significant difference being the extra hole, and the three holes are in exactly the same places as three of the four holes for the earlier hinges or the three holes for the totally different S3 hinge. They come either with or without the spare wheel mount. Series 2/2a military bonnets are the standard one fitted with an over centre clip each side.
The Deluxe bonnet is fully interchangeable, and is distinguished by a rounded nose that protrudes in front of the radiator support panel. It comes in either a plain form, or one with a recess for a spare tyre. Either version may be equipped with a spare wheel mount.
The deluxe bonnet was optional on all models, but supposed to be standard on lwb from Series 2a on. But you could opt for standard bonnet, however, and the Australian army did.
And the usual rider - the bonnet it has now may or may not be the one it left the factory with. Bonnets are not easily damaged in accidents, so a lot of them last beyond their first vehicle, but the frames are subject to rust, and diesels to fretting and loosening of rivets.
