How do you know it has no rego history - have you applied and paid your money to the RMS historic rego section to do a search of old records or just asked at an RMS office?

Hi just bought my first series 2a, at least I think it should be!. Its a bit of a bitza but the bones are good. Breaks all done electrics work (lights etc) no rust anywhere. It has had a 149 remoter conversion at some point but no rego history 😕 any advice on how to blue slip? Is engineering cert required?
Any advice would be great.

Hi
Do a Google search for "rego check nsw" :-)
The Govt sites are a free service.

Sorry I do not have a link as it was many years ago and all my discussions were over the phone - I believe the Historic section is in the Grafton Admin office (not the Grafton Rego Office). Current records which are electronic only go back a few years and records prior to that are housed either on paper or microfishe. Current Rego Check records might be free but Historic records are not and you will need to provide a credit card number.
This one of the letters I got back from them, for you the may be able to provide the original rego number. Even without a rego number I can prove with this letter to NSW rego authorities that my vehicle has previously been registered in NSW

Ii you are not going to be driving much put it on historic rego no blue slip needed. You get 60 days plus club events and to and from a mechanic.
You just need to find the right car club preferably one who do there own roadworthy then you avoid the issues of a young mechanic who has no clue what these old vehicles were like.
How are you getting on with rego?
