    Post Brake pipes

    Hi Guys,

Anyone know where I can get individual brake pipes for a 2A? Specifically, looking for the pipe from the font T-piece to the rear hose on a 88 inch. No:20 in the attached. I've seen the kits but just need the one pipe...

Do you have the old one ? If so most decent brake places will make up a pipe to the correct length.

I'm sure someone will supply individually ready made pipes but as there were changes over the years it'll be guaranteed either too short or too long.

If you can find someone to make the pipe it's worth doing the following (but painful)........Buy it over length with just one end flared, grovel around under the vehicle and bend it to fit exactly where you want it to fit with one end screwed into position (you may end up taking it on & off a few times). Mark where the second flare needs to go. Return to the brake shop and get them to fit the tube nut or flare nut and make the second flare.

I use this procedure when making my own. I've often kept the pipe that was removed as a pattern using string to work out the length of tube to start off with.

    Best of luck.

As Gromit said also It is best to give them a sample so they can do the correct flare on the ends . There are three different flares used in brakes if they do the wrong one you will have a leak.

And note that somewhere in 2/2a production the flare nuts changed from BSF to UNF - and that the brake place probably assumes everything is metric. And check the thread on the wheel cylinders you plan to fit!
