Update on my engine...
The cylinders are being machined .060 and the crank
.010 under. Parts were hard to get as it’s the odd size series 2. I ended up getting advice off Turner and bought the parts off them and the were really good. The pistons come in an unbranded blue box which freaked me out, but they’ve assured me they’re not Britpart and they use them in their rebuilds!
As for the big end bearings, they’ve told me to use TD5 bearings and for the mains, to use the later Series 2a which have the tabs on the wrong side. They told me they just file the tabs off. That all freaked me out, but my machinist here was fine with it and was actually excited that this is how they always used to have to adapt parts to suit so he could teach the younger guys!
