Hi Liam.
Series 3 held on by Nut and lock washer above wheel.
Series 2A same spline but uses pinch bolt below wheel.
So probably no, unless someone has a better solution.

Hi, does anyone know if a Series 3 Steering Wheel will fit a Series 2A?
Thanks in advance!

The above is not accurate - the change was at chassis suffix 'C' in 1967 in 2a production, not at the end of 2a.
SO the Series 3 wheel is the same as the last four years of 2a production, where before that the wheel was the same as most of Series 1 production.
Late Series 3 wheels, although they are interchangeable and look the same, are made differently and much more durable.

So, my 2A is suffix 'G' in 1969 do you reckon it will fit?
If your 2a is suffix 'G', the steering wheel is the same as all Series 3 wheels - provided the steering column and wheel has not been swapped for an earlier version!
This is a potential issue with any Landrover - where parts have changed through production, in many, even most, cases, even if a single part cannot be swapped, complete assemblies can, and often are. For example, my 2a has cab, doors, seats, one front spring, and steering wheel off a Series 3, wheels off a 110, overdrive and rear springs off a Series 2, and probably a few other bits from various other models.
And since the youngest Series 2a is almost fifty, few have not had these sort of mix and max changes!

only way to know for sure is pop the centre cap off your wheel and see if its got the pinch bolt or the nut. My very late 2A has a pinch bolt, which experts will tell you it should not, but there it is.
Cheers,
Adam
I had a 69 2a I stripped for parts and the steering wheel from that would not fit on the column of my 65 I’m restoring.
The splined section from the later vehicle was a smaller diameter than the older column.
That is right, you'd have to change the whole steering gear

I came across this thread when searching for info on ways to fix my steering slack.
I have a 1971 2A, with a washer and nut above the steering wheel, so it sounds like I could replace my worm and nut with a S3 one and it's totally compatible ? By totally compatible I mean horn and indicator switch until will still go on and work the same way ?
Thanks
John
The worm and nut from a Series 3 may fit a 2a after suffix 'C'. But- they are different part numbers. I think this is because of the bits that operate the self centering on the turn indicator switch, which can probably be removed - but I am not certain of that. There is a possibility the column length may differ.
